About the New Mexico
Energy Library
The New Mexico Energy Library, Inc. (NMEL)
of
Roswell
,
New Mexico
is a not-profit corporation formed in 1966 by independent oil operators and
geologists in
Roswell
. The Library has continued to expand and has become a very reputable source of
information for
New Mexico. Originally formed as The Permian Association, the name changed in 1994 to The
Roswell Energy Library, Inc. The name was again changed in 2006 to New Mexico
Energy Library, Inc., to better reflect the services available for the entire
State of
New Mexico.
We have extensive geophysical log
coverage on both hard copy and/or microfiche for
New Mexico. The Oil Conservation Division of New Mexico has bequeathed all of their large
scale logs and well files for the State to NMEL. This new acquisition makes NMEL
the most extensive source for logs and well files for both the
New Mexico
portion of the Permian and
San Juan
Basins. NMEL has extensive statewide coverage of sample (strip) logs and sample
descriptions, mud logs, core analysis. DST's and paleontology reports.
NMEL is located at 312 North Main
Street. Access to the contents and services at NMEL is through a
membership basis. Please see the Membership link above for
